The Jackholes for this week are all people involved in the Kovalchuk situation or as I like to call it Kovy-Gate 2010.

Lou Lamoriello, CEO and General Manager of the New Jersey Devils for being the author of the Kovy deal

Jeffrey Vanderbeek, Owner of the New Jersey Devils for authorizing Luo to offer such a deal

Gary Bettman, Commissioner of the NHL for fighting the Kovy deal so hard and allowing similar deals to pass through

Bill Daly, Deputy commissioner of the NHL for assisting Gary Bettman in his dirty deeds

Richard Block, Arbitrator of the Kovy case for siding 100% with Gary Bettman and throwing the whole deal out without offering a partial modification as an option

The Collective Bargaining Agreement, For not being clear enough on the matter of contract length thus allowing the NHL to go all legal-bitch-slap-ish on the players, agents, and general managers.



An honorable mention for jackhole of the week goes to the NHLPA

They get this honorable mention for threatening the dreaded "L" word as soon as the Kovy deal fell through
